posting ,blah

I started a new blog called myancestry.blogspot.com
nothing much there now, but it will serve as a journal of my researching activities.

Leaving for Nebraska in 2 days. not excited yet, I would like to see my Dad and his wife, but Nebraska is a big wide open space.

Kim said that there is a museum and a flea market that we could go to, so it might not be as bad as feared. Of course just hanging out with my Dad would be cool as well. I think it has been 2 years since I last saw him.

New Scientist Technology - Self-cloning robots are a chip off the old block

New Scientist Technology - Self-cloning robots are a chip off the old block: "Hod Lipson and colleagues at Cornell University in Ithaca, New York, built their self-replicating device using small mechanical building blocks that can swivel, and also attach themselves to one another using electromagnets."

I think I read a Tom Strong comic about this, and it ended up badly.

Cheating, or an Early Mingling of the Blood? - New York Times

Cheating, or an Early Mingling of the Blood? - New York Times: "In other words, his scientific expert argued, Mr. Hamilton had a twin that died in utero but, before dying, contributed some blood cells to him during fetal life. And those cells remained in his body, producing blood that matched the dead twin and not Mr. Hamilton. Or perhaps it was his mother's blood that got mixed in during fetal life."

E Ink

E Ink: "The Electronic Paper Display is reflective and can be easily read in bright sunlight or dimly lit environments while being able to be seen at virtually any angle - just like paper. Its black and white ink-on-paper look, combined with a resolution in excess of most portable devices at approximately 170 pixels per inch"

What haven't I written in a week? Busy---so busy. ;)

I did manage to add blogrolling (see the right hand pane under the archives.
Essentially this is what I get from my aggreagtor bloglines. I don't know how interesting this might be to other people, but I thought I'd share.
